Show Stopping Dessert Platter in Minutes

Updated: May 12, 2020

Feed a small army with fresh fruits, baked goods, and delectable toppings with this easy dessert platter.

Every year we spend Boxing Day with our family and we create the most moreish spread of antipasto treats to nibble on throughout the day (a post on that coming soon!). This year we did things a little differently and swapped the antipasto platter for a dessert spectacular - and it did not disappoint! This transports brilliantly; I put it together the morning of, and put the box straight in the car. No fuss, and super impressive when you're standing at your family's front door with this beauty.

It's best to use a wide box with short walls to make it accessible for multiple hands at once! You can pick these up at your local Harris Farm or similar fruit grocer - mango boxes are the perfect size. I wrapped mine in Christmas kraft wrapping paper to keep it festive, but you can use any themed paper and ribbons to suit.

The best thing about these boxes is you can do as much or as little baking as you like. I baked the brownies, rum balls, and mini donuts - the rest was shop bought! The mini pavs were an absolute hit as everyone could make their own with their favourite toppings.

What's in the box:

  • Brownies

  • Mini Donut Balls

  • Rum Balls

  • Mini Pavlovas (bought from Coles)

  • Mangoes

  • Cherries

  • Passionfruits

  • Kiwi

  • Strawberries

  • Blueberries

  • Thickened Cream (one plain, the other a rum flavoured one picked up from the grocery store)
